At Hedbergska Gymnasium, there are five upper secondary programs: the Economic Program, the Social Science Program, the Aesthetic Program, the Sales and Service Program, and the Restaurant and Food Program. Your contribution as a janitor

The janitorial team's mission is to be a support function for the school's operations. The work involves daily contact with staff, students, service functions, and contractors, where a good attitude is central. You will be part of a team of three janitors, so good collaboration skills and social competence are important. Daily tasks are performed both in groups and individually.

Examples of frequent tasks include managing locking systems and keys, maintaining inventory and equipment, and assembling and rearranging furniture, which involves heavy lifting. Handling and distributing student lockers, mail handling, and transportation with the school's own vehicles are also part of the job.

Reporting faults and contacting landlords and external craftsmen occur frequently. Manual snow removal of stairs and entrances is included. Otherwise, mostly maintenance of indoor environments. It is important that you can work at heights.

Ordering consumables and handling technical equipment, such as printers, copiers, and digital equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums, is also a significant part of the work.

The school's janitors also actively participate in planning and executing graduation, school ceremonies, and other larger events, which means that working hours may vary based on the needs of the operations.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone with experience in school janitorial work or other similar activities that the employer deems relevant. Knowledge of handling digital AV equipment, such as sound systems and projectors, is valuable as it may be needed to address issues that arise in classrooms. A driver's license (B) is a requirement.

The position requires good computer skills as many of the operations' systems are digital, such as for reporting faults, locking systems, and alarms. It is also a requirement that you have a good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as many contacts occur via phone, email, and other messaging systems. The work also involves manual snow removal, moving tasks that may include heavy lifting, and working at heights when necessary.

As a person, you are collaborative, proactive, and have an attitude that aligns with the school's goals and guidelines. The assignment is varied and requires both flexibility and responsibility.
